Terms & Privacy

Sit Chilly is a small game run by one company for people who were invited to play it. This page says what we ask of you, and what we do with what you give us. It is meant to be read, so it is written plainly and it is short.

In effect from 12 September 2026.

Who runs Sit Chilly

Sit Chilly is owned and operated by Longitude Media, LLC. “We” and “us” on this page mean that company. If you need to reach a person about anything here, write to seth@longitudemedia.com. A person reads it.

Who can play

You must be 18 or older to hold a Sit Chilly account. The game is not built for children and we do not knowingly keep an account for anyone under 18. If you tell us an account belongs to a child, we will delete it and everything attached to it.

Your account

One account per person. Keep your password to yourself — anyone holding it can make picks as you, and your league will have no way to tell the difference. If you think someone else has it, change it, and tell us if something looks wrong.

We may close an account that is used to abuse other players, to break into the game, or to interfere with how a league runs. That is a judgement we would rather never make, and we would talk to you first in anything short of an emergency.

Money: a fee to play, never a pot and never a prize

Sit Chilly collects a player fee for use of the game. Sit Chilly never holds a pot, never takes a share of one, and never pays out a prize. Whatever a league does among its members is the commissioner’s business and happens outside the platform.

During the beta no fee is being collected and no payment details are being taken. If that changes you will see the price before you are asked for anything, and you will never be charged for a season already under way.

Sit Chilly is a game of skill. Your points come from where the horse-and-rider pairs you picked actually finished, and from nothing else.

Your league sees your picks; the public sees nothing

Leagues are private. Nobody joins one without a link from its commissioner, and nothing inside a league is visible to the open internet.

Inside your league, the other Barn Managers see your barn name, your manager name, your barn logo, your scores and your standing all season. They see your picks for an event the moment that event locks, and not one second before. Your commissioner can enter or correct picks on your behalf — that is a deliberate part of the game, and every one of those changes is recorded.

What we store

Only what the game needs to run, and this is the whole list:

  • Your name and email address, and a scrambled version of your password that cannot be turned back into the password itself.
  • If you turn on two-factor sign-in, the secret your authenticator app needs and your unused backup codes.
  • For each league you play in: your barn name, your manager name, and your barn logo if you uploaded one.
  • Your picks, your scores, and the record of any pick or result an operator or commissioner changed.
  • A signed cookie that keeps you logged in, and a short technical log our hosting company keeps of requests to the site.

There is no advertising on Sit Chilly, no advertising tag in its pages, and no analytics product watching what you click. We do not build a profile of you and there is nothing here to sell.

Who else touches it

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone for their own use. Three companies handle it because they run the thing you are looking at: Vercel serves the site, Neon stores the database, and Resend delivers the email Sit Chilly sends you. Each of them handles it on our instructions and for no other purpose. We would also hand over information if the law actually required it of us.

Getting it back, or getting it deleted

Write to seth@longitudemedia.com and ask. We will send you a copy of everything stored about you, or delete your account and the barns, picks and scores attached to it, within 30 days.

One honest limit: deleting your account cannot un-play the seasons you were in. Your barn’s scores are part of your league’s own history, and your leaguemates keep that. What goes is you — your name, your email, your sign-in.

What we do not promise

Sit Chilly is provided as it is. We work hard to keep the scores right and the site up, but we cannot promise it will never be down, never lose a pick, or never get a result wrong — and if something does go wrong, the most we owe you is what you paid us to play, which during the beta is nothing.

Results come from the published results of real competitions. When a competition corrects its own results, we correct ours, and standings can move after the fact.

Whose game this is

Sit Chilly, its name, its mark, its rules and this software belong to Longitude Media, LLC. Playing gives you the run of the game, not a copy of it. Your barn name and barn logo stay yours — you give us permission to show them inside your league, and nothing beyond that.

Which law applies

Longitude Media, LLC is a Delaware limited liability company, and Delaware law governs this page and your use of Sit Chilly.

If this page changes

We will change the date at the top, and if the change matters to you we will email you about it rather than hoping you check. Carrying on playing after that is how you accept it.

Still wondering something? The FAQ answers the questions people actually ask, and How to Play covers the game itself.
