- Do I need to know anything about horses or show jumping?
- No. If you can pick five names from a list, you can play. The app shows you each rider’s world ranking when you pick, and most people learn the sport as the events go by. The How to Play page covers the whole game in about a minute.
- How much time does it take?
- As little as five minutes for each event. You make your picks before each event, then check how your barn did after the class runs. That's the whole job.
- What do I actually do for each event?
- Sit Chilly™ emails you when picks open for the next event, and your league page says so too. You open it, choose five horse-and-rider entries from that event's field, and each pick saves as you make it. When the class has run, points are posted automatically and the standings move — nothing else is required from you.
- What emails will I get?
- Four, and only around events your league is actually playing. One when picks open. One about a day before picks close, and one in the last couple of hours — but only if your picks are still short, so finishing your slate stops them. And one when the class is scored, with your points and where you now sit. Nothing else: Sit Chilly does not send marketing email.
- What's a barn?
- Your team. When you join a league you name your barn and can give it a logo. It's your identity in the standings for the season.
- What happens if I forget to pick for an event?
- Your barn scores zero for that event, and the season moves on. In most leagues the season drops each barn's worst event, so one missed event usually isn't fatal. It stings, but it doesn't end your season.
- Can I be in more than one league?
- Yes. One account can play in any number of leagues, and you run a separate barn in each. Leagues are private — the people in your league are the people your commissioner invited.
- What about money and prizes?
- Sit Chilly is software you pay to use, not a contest you pay to enter. Your fee buys you access to the game for the season. Sit Chilly awards no prizes, holds no money other than your fee, and takes no share of anything. We neither run nor permit wagering through Sit Chilly. Any arrangement between league members is theirs alone — we do not host it, take part in it, or endorse it.
- How do I join?
- Most players are invited: the friend running the league sends you a link, you accept, set up your barn, and you’re in. Sit Chilly is played by invitation only, so to start a league of your own, request one and we’ll be in touch.
- What's a commissioner?
- The person who starts a league and invites the players, usually a trainer or a barn friend.
- Why invitation only?
- We’re opening Sit Chilly one league at a time. Request a league and we’ll be in touch.
- Can I run my own league?
- Yes, by invitation. Request a league and the Sit Chilly team will invite you as its Commissioner: you name the league and invite your friends. That is all that is asked of you. We load every event, the riders, the Order of Go and the results, and the scoring follows on its own. The Commissioner page says what else a Commissioner can do if they want to, and none of it is required.
